³⁵ After crucifying Him they divided His clothes by casting lots.^[a](A)

²⁴ Then they crucified Him and divided His clothes, casting lots^(A) for them to decide what each would get.

[³⁴ Then Jesus said, “Father,^(A) forgive^(B) them, because they do not know what they are doing.”^(C)]^[a] And they divided His clothes and cast lots.^(D)

²⁴ So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to see who gets it.” They did this to fulfill^(A) the Scripture^(B) that says: They divided My clothes among themselves, and they cast lots for My clothing.^(C)[a] And this is what the soldiers did.

²¹ You have no part or share in this matter, because your heart is not right before God.^(A)

¹⁸ to open their eyes^(A) so they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that by faith in Me they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified.’^(B)

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you^[a] to share in the saints’^[b] inheritance in the light.^(A)

³ not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.
