⁵⁵ Many women who had followed Jesus from Galilee and ministered to Him were there, looking on from a distance.^(A)

⁴⁰ There^(A) were also women looking on from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene,^(B) Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome. ⁴¹ When He was in Galilee,^(C) they would follow Him and help Him. Many other women had come up with Him to Jerusalem.^(D)

⁴⁹ But^(A) all who knew Him, including the women who had followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance,^(B) watching these things.

⁵⁵ The women^(A) who had come with Him from Galilee followed along and observed the tomb and how His body was placed.

¹⁴ All these were continually united^(A) in prayer,^[a] along with the women, including Mary^[b] the mother of Jesus, and His brothers.^(B)
