¹¹ “As for me, ^(A)I baptize you ^[a]with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; ^(B)He will baptize you ^[b]with the Holy Spirit and fire. ¹² His ^(C)winnowing fork is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clear His threshing floor; and He will ^(D)gather His wheat into the barn, but He will burn up the ^(E)chaff with ^(F)unquenchable fire.”

^16 (A)John responded to them all, saying, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but He is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the straps of His sandals; He will baptize you ^[a]with the Holy Spirit and fire. ¹⁷ His ^(B)winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with ^(C)unquenchable fire.”

⁹ For in Him all the ^(A)fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form, ¹⁰ and in Him you have been ^(B)made ^[a]complete, and ^(C)He is the head ^[b]over every ^(D)ruler and authority; ¹¹ and in Him ^(E)you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of ^(F)the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ, ¹² having been ^(G)buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also ^(H)raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who ^(I)raised Him from the dead.

⁴ Therefore we have been ^(A)buried with Him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was ^(B)raised from the dead through the ^(C)glory of the Father, so we too may walk in ^(D)newness of life.
