Miracles of Healing

^18 (A)While He was saying these things to them, behold, ^[a]a synagogue ^[b]official came and ^[c](B)bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will become alive again.”

³⁵ While He was still speaking, people *came from the house of the ^(A)synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher further?” ³⁶ But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, *said to the ^(B)synagogue official, “^(C)Do not be afraid, only ^[a]believe.”

³⁸ They *came to the house of the ^(A)synagogue official, and He *saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing.

⁴⁹ While He was still speaking, someone *came from the house of ^(A)the synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.”

¹⁴ But ^(A)the synagogue leader, indignant because Jesus ^(B)had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “^(C)There are six days during which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.”

¹⁵ After ^(A)the reading of the Law and ^(B)the Prophets, ^(C)the synagogue officials sent word to them, saying, “^[a]Brothers, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say it.”

^8 (A)Crispus, ^(B)the leader of the synagogue, believed in the Lord ^(C)together with his entire household; and many of the ^(D)Corinthians, as they listened to Paul, were believing and being baptized.

¹⁷ But they all took hold of ^(A)Sosthenes, ^(B)the leader of the synagogue, and began beating him in front of ^(C)the judgment seat. And yet Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.
