13 Harness the steeds to the chariots,
inhabitants of (A)Lachish;
it was the beginning of sin
to the daughter of Zion,
for in you were found
(B)the transgressions of Israel.
14 Therefore you shall give parting gifts[a]
to (C)Moresheth-gath;
the houses of (D)Achzib shall be a deceitful thing
to the kings of Israel.
15 I will again bring (E)a conqueror to you,
inhabitants of (F)Mareshah;
the glory of Israel
shall come to (G)Adullam.

You are where the sin of Daughter Zion(B) began,
for the transgressions of Israel were found in you.

The town of Akzib[a](E) will prove deceptive(F)
to the kings of Israel.
15 I will bring a conqueror against you
who live in Mareshah.[b](G)
The nobles of Israel
will flee to Adullam.(H)
