⁶ who will rule^[a] the land of Assyria with the sword,
    the land of Nimrod^(A) with drawn sword.^[b](B)
He will deliver us from the Assyrians
    when they invade our land
    and march across our borders.^(C)

¹¹ They will pass through the sea of trouble;
    the surging sea will be subdued
    and all the depths of the Nile will dry up.^(A)
Assyria’s pride^(B) will be brought down
    and Egypt’s scepter^(C) will pass away.^(D)
