Time Passes; Heads of Provinces

11 Now ^(A)the leaders of the people lived in Jerusalem, but the rest of the people ^(B)cast lots to bring one out of ten to live in Jerusalem, ^(C)the holy city, while nine-tenths remained in the other cities.

²⁰ In that day there will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, “^(A)HOLY TO THE LORD.” And the ^(B)cooking pots in the Lord’s house will be like the bowls before the altar. ²¹ Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be ^(C)holy to the Lord of hosts; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them. And there will no longer be a ^[a](D)Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts in that day.

⁵ Then the devil *took Him into ^(A)the holy city and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple,

² And I saw ^(A)the holy city, ^(B)new Jerusalem, ^(C)coming down out of heaven from God, ^(D)made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, ^(E)the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will ^[a](F)dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them^[b], ⁴ and He will ^(G)wipe away every tear from their eyes; and ^(H)there will no longer be any death; ^(I)there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; ^(J)the first things have passed away.”

⁵ And ^(K)He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am ^(L)making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for ^(M)these words are faithful and true.” ⁶ Then He said to me, “^[c](N)It is done. I am the ^(O)Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. ^(P)I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the ^(Q)water of life without cost. ^7 (R)He who overcomes will inherit these things, and ^(S)I will be his God and he will be My son. ^8 (T)But for the cowardly and ^[d]unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in ^(U)the lake that burns with fire and ^[e]brimstone, which is the ^(V)second death.”

^9 (W)Then one of the seven angels who had the ^(X)seven bowls ^[f]full of the ^(Y)seven last plagues came and spoke with me, saying, “^(Z)Come here, I will show you the ^(AA)bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

The New Jerusalem

¹⁰ And ^(AB)he carried me away ^[g](AC)in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me ^(AD)the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having ^(AE)the glory of God. Her ^[h]brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a ^(AF)stone of ^(AG)crystal-clear jasper. ^12 [i]It had a great and high wall, ^[j](AH)with twelve ^(AI)gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. ¹³ There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had ^(AJ)twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the ^(AK)twelve apostles of the Lamb.

¹⁵ The one who spoke with me had a ^[k]gold measuring ^(AL)rod to measure the city, and its ^(AM)gates and its wall. ¹⁶ The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the ^[l]rod, ^[m]fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured its wall, ^[n]seventy-two yards, according to ^(AN)human ^[o]measurements, which are also ^(AO)angelic measurements. ¹⁸ The material of the wall was ^(AP)jasper; and the city was ^(AQ)pure gold, like ^[p]clear ^(AR)glass. ^19 (AS)The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was ^(AT)jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, ^(AU)emerald; ²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, ^(AV)sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve ^(AW)gates were twelve ^(AX)pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was ^(AY)pure gold, like transparent ^(AZ)glass.

²² I saw ^(BA)no ^[q]temple in it, for the ^(BB)Lord God the Almighty and the ^(BC)Lamb are its ^[r]temple. ²³ And the city ^(BD)has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for ^(BE)the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the ^(BF)Lamb. ^24 (BG)The nations will walk by its light, and the ^(BH)kings of the earth ^[s]will bring their glory into it. ²⁵ In the daytime (for ^(BI)there will be no night there) ^(BJ)its gates ^(BK)will never be closed; ²⁶ and ^(BL)they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; ²⁷ and ^(BM)nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those ^[t]whose names are ^(BN)written in the Lamb’s book of life.
