⁴And with you there shall be a man from every tribe, each one the head of his father’s house.

⁴One man from each tribe,^(A) each of them the head of his family,^(B) is to help you.^(C)

¹⁶^(A)These were ^(B)chosen^[a] from the congregation, leaders of their fathers’ tribes, ^(C)heads of the divisions in Israel.

¹⁶These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders^(A) of their ancestral tribes.^(B) They were the heads of the clans of Israel.^(C)
