^7 (A)Now the manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like that of ^(B)bdellium. ⁸ The people would go about and gather it and grind it ^[a]between two millstones or beat it in the mortar, and boil it in the pot and make cakes with it; and its taste was as the taste of ^[b]cakes baked with oil. ^9 (C)When the dew fell on the camp at night, the manna would fall ^[c]with it.

³ He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you ^[a]understand that ^(A)man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.

¹⁶ In the wilderness He fed you manna ^(A)which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might ^(B)test you, to do good for you ^[a]in the end.
