²⁴ But because my servant Caleb^(A) has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,^(B) I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.^(C)

³⁶ except Caleb^(A) son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.^(B)”

⁹ So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance^(A) and that of your children^(B) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’^[a]

¹³ Then Joshua blessed^(A) Caleb son of Jephunneh^(B) and gave him Hebron^(C) as his inheritance.^(D)

¹³ In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb^(A) son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah—Kiriath Arba^(B), that is, Hebron.^(C) (Arba was the forefather of Anak.)^{(D) 14} From Hebron Caleb drove out the three Anakites^(E)—Sheshai, Ahiman and Talmai,^(F) the sons of Anak.^(G)
