Numbers 14:33-35
1599 Geneva Bible
33 And your children shall [a]wander in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your [b]whoredoms, until your carcasses be wasted in the wilderness.
34 After the number of the days in the which ye searched out the land, even forty days, (A)every day for a year, shall you bear your iniquity, for (B)forty years, and ye [c]shall feel my breach of promise.
35 I the Lord have said, Certainly I will do so to all this wicked company that are gathered together against me: for in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

New International Version
33 Your children will be shepherds here for forty years,(A) suffering for your unfaithfulness, until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness. 34 For forty years(B)—one year for each of the forty days you explored the land(C)—you will suffer for your sins and know what it is like to have me against you.’ 35 I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things(D) to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.(E)”
