⁹ For he spoke, and it came into being;
he commanded, and it came into existence.^(A)

¹¹ I call a bird of prey^[a] from the east,^(A)
a man for my purpose from a far country.
Yes, I have spoken; so I will also bring it about.^(B)
I have planned it; I will also do it.

¹¹ so my word that comes from my mouth
will not return to me empty,
but it will accomplish what I please
and will prosper in what I send it to do.”^(A)

²⁴ Then all the trees of the field will know
that I am the Lord.
I bring down the tall tree,
and make the low tree tall.^(A)
I cause the green tree to wither
and make the withered tree thrive.^(B)
I, the Lord, have spoken
and I will do it.’”^(C)
