2 two hundred and fifty Israelites who were leaders in the community, members of the council and men of note, and confronted Moses. 3 Holding an assembly against Moses and Aaron, they said,(A) “You go too far! The whole community, all of them, are holy; the Lord is in their midst. Why then should you set yourselves over the Lord’s assembly?”
4 When Moses heard this, he fell prostrate.

New International Version
2 and rose up against Moses.(A) With them were 250 Israelite men, well-known community leaders who had been appointed members of the council.(B) 3 They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron(C) and said to them, “You have gone too far! The whole community is holy,(D) every one of them, and the Lord is with them.(E) Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”(F)
4 When Moses heard this, he fell facedown.(G)
