Numbers 19:13-15
New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition
13 All who touch a corpse, the body of a human being who has died, and do not purify themselves, defile the tabernacle of the Lord; such persons shall be cut off from Israel. Since water for cleansing was not dashed on them, they remain unclean; their uncleanness is still on them.
14 This is the law when someone dies in a tent: everyone who comes into the tent, and everyone who is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days. 15 And every open vessel with no cover fastened on it is unclean.

New International Version
13 If they fail to purify themselves after touching a human corpse,(A) they defile the Lord’s tabernacle.(B) They must be cut off from Israel.(C) Because the water of cleansing has not been sprinkled on them, they are unclean;(D) their uncleanness remains on them.
14 “This is the law that applies when a person dies in a tent: Anyone who enters the tent and anyone who is in it will be unclean for seven days, 15 and every open container(E) without a lid fastened on it will be unclean.
