¹² Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because ^(A)you did not believe Me, to ^(B)hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

⁵⁰ and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be ^[a]gathered to your people, just as ^(A)Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people;

God’s Commission to Joshua

1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ ^(A)assistant, saying:

^2 (A)“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.
