Arad Destroyed

21 When the Canaanite king of Arad,^(A) who lived in the Negev,^(B) heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked the Israelites and captured some of them.

¹⁶ So Joshua took this entire land: the hill country,^(A) all the Negev,^(B) the whole region of Goshen, the western foothills,^(C) the Arabah and the mountains of Israel with their foothills,

⁸ The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev.^(A) These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. These were the kings:^(B)

⁷ Then they went toward the fortress of Tyre^(A) and all the towns of the Hivites^(B) and Canaanites. Finally, they went on to Beersheba^(C) in the Negev^(D) of Judah.
