⁵Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites; ⁶of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites. ⁷These are the families of the Reubenites, and those who were counted of them were ^(A)43,730.

New International Version

⁵The descendants of Reuben,^(A) the firstborn son of Israel, were:

through Hanok,^(B) the Hanokite clan;

through Pallu,^(C) the Palluite clan;

⁶through Hezron,^(D) the Hezronite clan;

through Karmi,^(E) the Karmite clan.

⁷These were the clans of Reuben; those numbered were 43,730.
