7 The Israelites fought the Midianites as the Lord had commanded. They killed all the Midianite men. 8 Among the people who they killed were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with a sword.
9 The Israelites took the Midianite women and children as prisoners. They also took all their sheep, cattle, and other things.

7 They fought against Midian, as the Lord commanded Moses,(A) and killed every man.(B) 8 Among their victims were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur and Reba(C)—the five kings of Midian.(D) They also killed Balaam son of Beor(E) with the sword.(F) 9 The Israelites captured the Midianite women(G) and children and took all the Midianite herds, flocks and goods as plunder.(H)
