39 The sons of (A)Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and took it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. 40 So Moses gave (B)Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he lived in it.

39 The descendants of Makir(A) son of Manasseh went to Gilead,(B) captured it and drove out the Amorites(C) who were there. 40 So Moses gave Gilead to the Makirites,(D) the descendants of Manasseh, and they settled there.
