13 They will remove the fat-soaked ashes from the altar and spread a purple cloth over it; 14 they will put on it all the vessels with which they serve, the fire pans, forks, shovels, and bowls—all the vessels of the altar. They will spread on it a covering of fine leather;[a] and they will place its poles. 15 And when Aaron and his sons have finished covering the sanctuary and all the vessels of the sanctuary when the camp sets out, the descendants[b] of Kohath will come after to carry these, but they must not touch the sanctuary, or they will die. These are the load of the descendants[c] of Kohath in the tent of assembly.

13 “They are to remove the ashes(A) from the bronze altar(B) and spread a purple cloth over it. 14 Then they are to place on it all the utensils(C) used for ministering at the altar, including the firepans,(D) meat forks,(E) shovels(F) and sprinkling bowls.(G) Over it they are to spread a covering of the durable leather and put the poles(H) in place.

15 “After Aaron and his sons have finished covering the holy furnishings and all the holy articles, and when the camp is ready to move,(I) only then are the Kohathites(J) to come and do the carrying.(K) But they must not touch the holy things(L) or they will die.(M) The Kohathites are to carry those things that are in the tent of meeting.
