⁵ We remember the fish we ate in Egypt at no cost—also the cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions and garlic.^(A)

¹³ Isn’t it enough that you have brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey^(A) to kill us in the wilderness?^(B) And now you also want to lord it over us!^(C)

³ They quarreled^(A) with Moses and said, “If only we had died when our brothers fell dead^(B) before the Lord!^{(C) 4} Why did you bring the Lord’s community into this wilderness,^(D) that we and our livestock should die here?^(E)

⁵ they spoke against God^(A) and against Moses, and said, “Why have you brought us up out of Egypt^(B) to die in the wilderness?^(C) There is no bread! There is no water!^(D) And we detest this miserable food!”^(E)
