²³ not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath^(A) to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt^(B) will ever see it.^{(C) 24} But because my servant Caleb^(D) has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,^(E) I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.^(F)

⁹ and so that you may live long^(A) in the land the Lord swore^(B) to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.^(C)
