⁸And being found in appearance as a man,
    he humbled himself
    by becoming obedient to death^(A)—
        even death on a cross!^(B)

⁸And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

¹⁰My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings,^(A) being conformed to His death,^(B)

¹⁰I want to know^(A) Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings,^(B) becoming like him in his death,^(C)

¹⁰That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
