1 Paul^(A) and Timothy,^(B) slaves of Christ Jesus:

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi,^(C) including the overseers^(D) and deacons.^(E)

² An overseer,^(A) therefore, must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, self-controlled, sensible,^(B) respectable, hospitable,^(C) an able teacher,^[a]

⁷ For an overseer,^(A) as God’s administrator, must be blameless, not arrogant, not hot-tempered, not addicted to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money,
