²⁶ The righteous choose their friends carefully,
    but the way of the wicked leads them astray.^(A)

¹² Youths^(A) oppress my people,
    women rule over them.
My people, your guides lead you astray;^(B)
    they turn you from the path.

⁶ “My people have been lost sheep;^(A)
    their shepherds^(B) have led them astray^(C)
    and caused them to roam on the mountains.
They wandered over mountain and hill^(D)
    and forgot their own resting place.^(E)

“As for the prophets
    who lead my people astray,^(A)
they proclaim ‘peace’^(B)
    if they have something to eat,
but prepare to wage war against anyone
    who refuses to feed them.
