Proverbs 14:15-17

¹⁵A fool will believe anything; smart people watch their step.

¹⁶Sensible people are careful to stay out of trouble, but stupid people are careless and act too quickly.

¹⁷People with a hot temper do foolish things; wiser people remain calm.^[a]

New International Version

¹⁵The simple believe anything,
but the prudent give thought to their steps.^(A)

¹⁶The wise fear the Lord and shun evil,^(B)
but a fool^(C) is hotheaded and yet feels secure.
