Proverbs 14:29-31

²⁹A wise man controls his temper. He knows that anger causes mistakes.

³⁰A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life; jealousy rots it away.

³¹Anyone who oppresses the poor is insulting God who made them. To help the poor is to honor God.

Proverbs 14:29-31

²⁹Whoever is patient has great understanding,^(A)
but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.^(B)

³⁰A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.^(C)

³¹Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,^(D)
but whoever is kind to the needy honors God.^(E)
