Proverbs 15:26-28

Good News Translation

²⁶The Lord hates evil thoughts, but he is pleased with friendly words.

²⁷Try to make a profit dishonestly, and you get your family in trouble. Don't take bribes and you will live longer.

²⁸Good people think before they answer. Evil people have a quick reply, but it causes trouble.

Proverbs 15:26-28

²⁶The Lord detests the thoughts^(A) of the wicked,^(B)
but gracious words are pure^(C) in his sight.

²⁷The greedy bring ruin to their households,
but the one who hates bribes will live.^(D)

²⁸The heart of the righteous weighs its answers,^(E)
but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.^(F)
