Proverbs 17:25-27

New American Standard Bible

²⁵A ^(A)foolish son is a grief to his father,
And ^(B)bitterness to her who gave birth to him.
²⁶It is also not good to ^(C)fine the righteous,
Nor to strike the noble for their uprightness.
²⁷One who ^(D)withholds his words ^[a]has knowledge,
And one who has a ^(E)cool spirit is a person of understanding.
