Proverbs 18:5-7

⁵It is not good to honor the wicked.
Nor is it good to be unfair to the innocent.

⁶A fool’s words start quarrels.
They make people want to give him a beating.

⁷A fool’s words will ruin him.
He will be trapped by his own words.

⁵It is not good to be partial to the wicked^(A)
and so deprive the innocent of justice.^(B)

⁶The lips of fools bring them strife,
and their mouths invite a beating.^(C)

⁷The mouths of fools are their undoing,
