Proverbs 19:19-21

¹⁹¶ A man of great wrath shall suffer the consequences, for even if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

²⁰¶ Hear counsel, and receive chastening that thou may be wise in thy old age.

²¹¶ There are many thoughts in the heart of man; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD shall stand.

Proverbs 19:19-21

New International Version

¹⁹A hot-tempered person must pay the penalty;
rescue them, and you will have to do it again.

²⁰Listen to advice and accept discipline,^(A)
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.^(B)

²¹Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.^(C)
