Proverbs 20:19-21

Young's Literal Translation

¹⁹A revealer of secret counsels is the busybody, And for a deceiver [with] his lips make not thyself surety.

²⁰Whoso is vilifying his father and his mother, Extinguished is his lamp in blackness of darkness.

²¹An inheritance gotten wrongly at first, Even its latter end is not blessed.

Proverbs 20:19-21

New International Version

¹⁹A gossip betrays a confidence;^(A)
so avoid anyone who talks too much.

²⁰If someone curses their father or mother,^(B)
their lamp will be snuffed out in pitch darkness.^(C)

²¹An inheritance claimed too soon
will not be blessed at the end.

¹⁹He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.

²⁰Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

²¹An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
