Proverbs 21:8-10

Young's Literal Translation

⁸Froward [is] the way of a man who is vile, And the pure -- upright [is] his work.

⁹Better to sit on a corner of the roof, Than [with] a woman of contentions and a house of company.

¹⁰The soul of the wicked hath desired evil, Not gracious in his eyes is his neighbour.

Proverbs 21:8-10

New International Version

⁸The way of the guilty is devious,^(A)
but the conduct of the innocent is upright.

⁹Better to live on a corner of the roof
than share a house with a quarrelsome wife.^(B)

¹⁰The wicked crave evil;
their neighbors get no mercy from them.

⁸The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

⁹It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

¹⁰The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
