Proverbs 22:4-6

⁴True humility and respect for the Lord lead a man to riches, honor, and long life.

⁵The rebel walks a thorny, treacherous road; the man who values his soul will stay away.

⁶Teach a child to choose the right path, and when he is older, he will remain upon it.

Proverbs 22:4-6

⁴Humility is the fear of the Lord;
its wages are riches and honor^(A) and life.^(B)

⁵In the paths of the wicked are snares and pitfalls,^(C)
but those who would preserve their life stay far from them.

⁶Start^(D) children off on the way they should go,^(E)
and even when they are old they will not turn from it.^(F)
