²¹ Jesus said to him, “If you want to be ^[a]complete, go and ^(A)sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have ^(B)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

²¹ Such is the one who ^(A)stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich in relation to God.”

³³ “^(A)Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves money belts that do not wear out, ^(B)an inexhaustible treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near nor does a moth destroy.

²² Now when Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; ^(A)sell all that you possess and distribute the money to the poor, and you will have ^(B)treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

^9 (A)But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and ^(B)a trap, and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge people into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For ^(C)the love of money is a root of all ^[a]sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have ^(D)wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many ^[b]griefs.

⁵ Make sure that your character is ^(A)free from the love of money, ^(B)being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “^(C)I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”
