Proverbs 25:5-7

5 If you remove the wicked from the king’s presence,
his throne will be founded on righteousness.
6 [a]Do not push yourself forward in the king’s presence
or take a place where the great assemble.
7 For it is better to be told, “Come up closer,”
than to be humiliated in the presence of the prince.

and do not claim a place among his great men;
7 it is better for him to say to you, “Come up here,”(D)
than for him to humiliate you before his nobles.
