² The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him^(A)—
a Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
a Spirit of counsel and strength,
a Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

³ I will give you the treasures of darkness
and riches from secret places,^(A)
so that you may know that I am the Lord.
I am the God of Israel, who calls you by your name.^(B)

⁵ “Look, the days are coming”^(A)—this is the Lord’s declaration—
“when I will raise up a Righteous Branch for David.^(B)
He will reign wisely as king
and administer justice and righteousness in the land.^(C)
