¹⁷^(A)haughty eyes, ^(B)a lying tongue,
and ^(C)hands that shed innocent blood,

¹⁷        haughty eyes,^(A)
        a lying tongue,^(B)
        hands that shed innocent blood,^(C)

⁵Whoever slanders his neighbor ^(A)secretly
I will ^(B)destroy.
Whoever has a ^(C)haughty look and an ^(D)arrogant heart
I will not endure.

⁵Whoever slanders their neighbor^(A) in secret,
I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes^(B) and a proud heart,
I will not tolerate.
