Love Your Enemies

⁴³ “You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor^[a](A) and hate your enemy.

³⁹ The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.^[a](A)

³¹ The second is, Love your neighbor^(A) as yourself.^[a](B) There is no other command^(C) greater than these.”

²⁷ He answered, “Love the Lord your God^(A) with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,”^(B) and “your neighbor as yourself.”^[a](C)

⁹ The commandments, Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal;^[a] do not covet;^[b](A) and any other commandment, are summed up by this commandment: Love your neighbor as yourself.^[c](B)

¹⁴ For the whole law is fulfilled^(A) in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.^[a](B)

⁸ Indeed, if you fulfill the royal law prescribed in the Scripture, Love your neighbor as yourself,^[a](A) you are doing well.
