¹⁵ The leech has two daughters:
    Give and Give.^[a]
(A)Three things are never satisfied;
    ^(B)four never say, “Enough”:
^16 (C)Sheol, ^(D)the barren womb,
    the land never satisfied with water,
    and the fire that never says, “Enough.”

⁵ “Moreover, wine^[a] is ^(A)a traitor,
    an arrogant man who is never at rest.^[b]
His greed is as wide as Sheol;
    like death ^(B)he has never enough.
^(C)He gathers for himself all nations
    and collects as his own all peoples.”

    and whole, like ^(B)those who go down to the pit;
