You are my King(A) and my God,(B)
    who decrees[a] victories(C) for Jacob.
Through you we push back(D) our enemies;
    through your name we trample(E) our foes.
I put no trust in my bow,(F)
    my sword does not bring me victory;
but you give us victory(G) over our enemies,
    you put our adversaries to shame.(H)
In God we make our boast(I) all day long,(J)
    and we will praise your name forever.[b](K)

But now you have rejected(L) and humbled us;(M)
    you no longer go out with our armies.(N)
10 You made us retreat(O) before the enemy,
    and our adversaries have plundered(P) us.
11 You gave us up to be devoured like sheep(Q)
    and have scattered us among the nations.(R)
12 You sold your people for a pittance,(S)
    gaining nothing from their sale.

13 You have made us a reproach(T) to our neighbors,(U)
    the scorn(V) and derision(W) of those around us.
14 You have made us a byword(X) among the nations;
    the peoples shake their heads(Y) at us.
15 I live in disgrace(Z) all day long,
    and my face is covered with shame(AA)
16 at the taunts(AB) of those who reproach and revile(AC) me,
    because of the enemy, who is bent on revenge.(AD)
