² and saying, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven has come near!” ^(A)

¹⁷ From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, because the kingdom of heaven^(A) has come near.”

⁴² Again, a second time, he went away and prayed, “My Father, if this^[a] cannot pass^[b] unless I drink it, your will be done.”^(A)

⁴² “Father, if you are willing, take this cup^(A) away from me—nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”

¹⁴ Since he would not be persuaded, we said no more except, “The Lord’s will be done.”^(A)
