²³ Those who ^(A)go down to the sea in ships,
Who do business on great waters;
²⁴ They have seen the works of the Lord,
And His ^[a]wonders in the deep.
²⁵ For He ^(B)spoke and raised up a ^(C)stormy wind,
Which ^(D)lifted up the waves ^[b]of the sea.
²⁶ They rose up to the heavens, they went down to the depths;
Their soul ^(E)melted away in their misery.
²⁷ They reeled and ^(F)staggered like a drunken man,
And ^[c]were at their wits’ end.
²⁸ Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
And He brought them out of their distresses.

^6 (A)Whatever the Lord pleases, He does,
In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
^7 [a]He ^(B)causes the ^[b]vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
Who ^(C)makes lightnings for the rain,
Who ^(D)brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
