³When the foundations are destroyed, The righteous -- what hath he done?

⁴`Jehovah [is] in his holy temple: Jehovah -- in the heavens [is] His throne. His eyes see -- His eyelids try the sons of men.

³When the foundations^(A) are being destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”

⁴The Lord is in his holy temple;^(B)
    the Lord is on his heavenly throne.^(C)
He observes everyone on earth;^(D)
    his eyes examine^(E) them.
⁵The Lord examines the righteous,^(F)
    but the wicked, those who love violence,
    he hates with a passion.^(G)
