^18 (A)I will open rivers on the bare heights,
    and fountains in the midst of the valleys.
^(B)I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
    and the dry land springs of water.

^6 (A)then shall the lame man leap like a deer,
    and the tongue of the mute sing for joy.
^(B)For waters break forth in the wilderness,
    and streams in the desert;
^7 (C)the burning sand shall become a pool,
    and the thirsty ground springs of water;
in the haunt of ^(D)jackals, where they lie down,
    the grass shall become reeds and rushes.

^19 (A)Behold, I am doing a new thing;
    now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?

    ^(C)and rivers in the desert.

to give drink to my chosen people,
