Psalm 132:11

11 The Lord has (A)sworn to David
A truth from which He will not turn back:
“(B)Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.

12 (A)When your days are complete and you (B)lie down with your fathers, (C)I will raise up your [a]descendant after you, who will come forth from [b]you, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 (D)He shall build a house for My name, and (E)I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 (F)I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; (G)when he commits iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of men, 15 but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him, (H)as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 (I)Your house and your kingdom shall endure before [c]Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.”’” 17 In accordance with all these words and all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.
David’s Prayer
18 Then David the king went in and sat before the Lord, and he said, “(J)Who am I, O Lord [d]God, and what is my house, that You have brought me this far? 19 And yet this was insignificant in Your eyes, O Lord God, (K)for You have spoken also of the house of Your servant concerning the distant future. And (L)this is the [e]custom of man, O Lord God. 20 Again what more can David say to You? For (M)You know Your servant, O Lord God! 21 (N)For the sake of Your word, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness to let Your servant know. 22 For this reason (O)You are great, O Lord God; for (P)there is none like You, and there is no God besides You, (Q)according to all that we have heard with our ears. 23 And (R)what one nation on the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people and to make a name for Himself, and (S)to do a great thing for You and awesome things for Your land, before (T)Your people whom (U)You have redeemed for Yourself from Egypt, from nations and their gods? 24 For (V)You have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your own people forever, and (W)You, O Lord, have become their God. 25 Now therefore, O Lord God, the word that You have spoken concerning Your servant and his house, confirm it forever, and do as You have spoken, 26 (X)that Your name may be magnified forever, by saying, ‘The Lord of hosts is God over Israel’; and may the house of Your servant David be established before You. 27 For You, O Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, have [f]made a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘(Y)I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found [g]courage to pray this prayer to You. 28 Now, O Lord God, You are God, and (Z)Your words are truth, and You have [h]promised this good thing to Your servant. 29 Now therefore, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You. For You, O Lord God, have spoken; and (AA)with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”

3 “I have made a covenant with (A)My chosen;
I have (B)sworn to David My servant,
4 I will establish your (C)seed forever
And build up your (D)throne to all generations.” [a]Selah.
5 The (E)heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord;
Your faithfulness also (F)in the assembly of the (G)holy ones.
6 For (H)who in the skies is comparable to the Lord?
Who among the [b](I)sons of the mighty is like the Lord,
7 A God (J)greatly feared in the council of the (K)holy ones,
And (L)awesome above all those who are around Him?
8 O Lord God of hosts, (M)who is like You, O mighty [c]Lord?
Your faithfulness also surrounds You.
9 You rule the swelling of the sea;
When its waves rise, You (N)still them.
10 You Yourself crushed [d](O)Rahab like one who is slain;
You (P)scattered Your enemies with [e]Your mighty arm.
11 The (Q)heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours;
The (R)world and [f]all it contains, You have founded them.

13 You have [g]a strong arm;
Your hand is mighty, Your (W)right hand is exalted.
14 (X)Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;

15 How blessed are the people who know the [i](Z)joyful sound!
O Lord, they walk in the (AA)light of Your countenance.
16 In (AB)Your name they rejoice all the day,
And by Your righteousness they are exalted.
17 For You are the glory of (AC)their strength,
And by Your favor [j]our (AD)horn is exalted.
18 For our (AE)shield belongs to the Lord,
[k]And our king to the (AF)Holy One of Israel.
19 [l]Once You spoke in vision to Your godly [m]ones,
And said, “I have [n]given help to one who is (AG)mighty;
I have exalted one (AH)chosen from the people.
20 “I have (AI)found David My servant;
With My holy (AJ)oil I have anointed him,
21 With whom (AK)My hand will be established;
My arm also will (AL)strengthen him.
22 “The enemy will not [o]deceive him,
Nor the [p](AM)son of wickedness afflict him.
23 “But I shall (AN)crush his adversaries before him,
And strike those who hate him.
24 “My (AO)faithfulness and My lovingkindness will be with him,
And in My name his (AP)horn will be exalted.
25 “I shall also set his hand (AQ)on the sea
And his right hand on the rivers.
26 “He will cry to Me, ‘You are (AR)my Father,
My God, and the (AS)rock of my salvation.’
27 “I also shall make him My (AT)firstborn,
The (AU)highest of the kings of the earth.
28 “My (AV)lovingkindness I will keep for him forever,
And My (AW)covenant shall be confirmed to him.
29 “So I will establish his [q](AX)descendants forever
And his (AY)throne (AZ)as the days of heaven.
30 “If his sons (BA)forsake My law
And do not walk in My judgments,
31 If they [r]violate My statutes
And do not keep My commandments,
32 Then I will punish their transgression with the (BB)rod
And their iniquity with stripes.
33 “But I will not break off (BC)My lovingkindness from him,
Nor deal falsely in My faithfulness.
34 “My (BD)covenant I will not [s]violate,
Nor will I (BE)alter [t]the utterance of My lips.
35 “[u]Once I have (BF)sworn by My holiness;
I will not lie to David.
36 “His [v](BG)descendants shall endure forever
And his (BH)throne (BI)as the sun before Me.
37 “It shall be established forever (BJ)like the moon,

38 But You have (BL)cast off and (BM)rejected,
You have been full of wrath [x]against Your (BN)anointed.
39 You have (BO)spurned the covenant of Your servant;
You have (BP)profaned (BQ)his crown [y]in the dust.
40 You have (BR)broken down all his walls;
You have (BS)brought his strongholds to ruin.
41 (BT)All who pass along the way plunder him;
He has become a (BU)reproach to his neighbors.
42 You have (BV)exalted the right hand of his adversaries;
You have (BW)made all his enemies rejoice.
43 You also turn back the edge of his sword
And have (BX)not made him stand in battle.
44 You have made his [z](BY)splendor to cease
And cast his throne to the ground.
45 You have (BZ)shortened the days of his youth;

46 (CB)How long, O Lord?
Will You hide Yourself forever?
Will Your (CC)wrath burn like fire?
47 (CD)Remember [aa]what my span of life is;
For what (CE)vanity [ab]You have created all the sons of men!
48 What man can live and not (CF)see death?
Can he (CG)deliver his soul from the [ac]power of [ad]Sheol? Selah.
49 Where are Your former lovingkindnesses, O Lord,
Which You (CH)swore to David in Your faithfulness?
50 Remember, O Lord, the (CI)reproach of Your servants;
[ae]How I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many peoples,
51 With which (CJ)Your enemies have reproached, O Lord,
With which they have reproached the footsteps of (CK)Your anointed.
52 (CL)Blessed be the Lord forever!
