Once they die and are buried,
that will be the end
    of all their plans.

The Lord God of Jacob blesses
everyone who trusts him
    and depends on him.

The Lord sets prisoners free
    and heals blind eyes.
He gives a helping hand
    to everyone who falls.
The Lord loves good people
    and looks after strangers.
He defends the rights
of orphans and widows,
    but destroys the wicked.

When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;(A)
    on that very day their plans come to nothing.(B)
Blessed are those(C) whose help(D) is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God.

He is the Maker of heaven(E) and earth,
