¹⁰For You will not abandon me to Sheol;^(A)
You will not allow Your Faithful One to see decay.^(B)

Psalm 16:10

New International Version

¹⁰because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,^(A)
nor will you let your faithful^[a] one^(B) see decay.^(C)

³The ropes of death were wrapped around me,
and the torments of Sheol overcame me;
I encountered trouble and sorrow.^(A)

³The cords of death^(A) entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
