²⁷ You save the humble^(A)
    but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.^(B)

¹⁷ The arrogance of man will be brought low^(A)
    and human pride humbled;^(B)
the Lord alone will be exalted in that day,^(C)

“I am planning disaster^(A) against this people,
    from which you cannot save yourselves.
You will no longer walk proudly,^(B)
    for it will be a time of calamity.
