2 Why do ^(A)the ^[a]nations rage
And the peoples ^(B)meditate on a vain thing?
² The ^(C)kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
^(D)Against Yahweh and against His ^[b](E)Anointed, saying,
³ “Let us ^(F)tear their fetters apart
And cast away their cords from us!”

^10 (A)Devise counsel, but it will be thwarted;
Speak a word, but ^(B)it will not stand,
For ^[a](C)God is with us.”

³ Then the spirit of the Egyptians will be emptied to destruction within them;
And I will confuse their counsel,
So that ^(A)they will seek idols and ghosts of the dead
And to ^[a]mediums and spiritists.
